Default First start up of my Trans-Am with my MS3 cam

Finally got this shit done on Thursday...im soo glad I did it myself, it was very imtimidating at first since honestly I haven't done much work on cars besides basic shit like oil changes, tune ups, etc. But in the end it paid off and all is well. Haven't fully got on it yet since im still rockin the studded narrow snow tires in the back and traction is a bitch. Anyway here is a video of the very first start up and of a little burnout:

Specs of the cam are: 237/242 .603/.609 112

Nah it really wasen't too bad at all. I'd go to the track Saturday but im taking the car down to North Carolina to visit a friend for a week. Whenever the next dyno day is I want to go and see what my gains are...tune is just a mail order from Texas Speed as-of now.

you should make good hp but the ms3 isnt known for its tq. doesnt really matter as hp is what makes the track times. youre still on stock 3.42s arent you? you REALLY need gears to take advantage of that cam. dont be surprised if, without gears, your ET/mph doesnt go up as much as your hp states. should still make in the 400 rwhp range.

Yeah im expecting 400RWHP if not a little bit more...I mean it put down 360 with just bolt-ons. I want 4.10's but I don't see the point in getting gears without upgrading the rear to a 9'' or 12-bolt first. I really, really want to get some DR's for it and came close a few times, but in my eyes its pointless on this 10-bolt since everytime I would be hard on it its taking a huge (and expensive) chance.

As of now it spins all through 2nd, but then again the pavement is still cold and I still have my snow tires on which are narrow 16'' tires instead of the 275's. I will be putting the 275's back on probably tomm. I am taking the car down to NC this Friday and staying a week there, I want to try and hit up a 1/4 track down there, they just opened a new one called Lowes Motor Speedway which is 5 mins from where I will be so I want to go there. I know most tracks there are 1/8 miles and I will have a shitty time as I won't be able to hook up. I HOPE to have a 9'' or 12-bolt rear by summer time, but I really don't see that happening as I need money for other things too and don't have thousands to drop on parts.

EDIT: Anyone have any idea what a similar set-up to mine would run 1/4 wise?

texas speed had a cam only MS3 car running mid 10s. some people havent gotten out of the 14s. you never know. you should trap 116-117 though. ET will depend on traction. probably low-mid 12s.

Yeah im not expecting a great 1/4 pass due to traction. Im too scared to put DR's on it without a rear

drag radials will not be too bad unless you launch hard.

do a burnout.
and when you launch, let it out fast enough to not spin the tires but to get a good 60 (kind of slipping it a little), and smash away.
